GB Auto Service Acquires Fresno, California-based Goodguys Tires & Auto Repair

Latest Addition to GB Auto Portfolio Expands California Footprint, Joining Ramona Tire& Service Centers in Inland Empire.

GB Auto Service, Inc., a portfolio company of Greenbriar Equity Group, L.P., today announced the acquisition of Fresno, California-based Goodguys Tires & Auto Repair, marking the latest expansion of its brand across the U.S.

Founded in 1976, Goodguys Tires & Auto Repair operates five stores in Fresno, as well as locations in Clovis, Sanger and Visalia.

“For 45 years, Goodguys has built an exceptional name for itself as a trusted source for auto service, tire repair and replacement,” said GB Auto Service CEO Frank Kneller. “We’re honored to have them join our growing family of brands and look forward to helping them continue to flourish throughout the Fresno region.”

Goodguys Tires & Auto Repair President Scott Shubin said the transition to GB Auto’s ownership “will help fuel the growth of our brand, while strengthening the uncompromisingly exceptional service that our customers have come to rely on over these past four-plus decades.”

The addition of Goodguys Tires & Auto Repair marks the latest expansion of the GB Auto brand. It follows the December acquisition of three Houston-area ServiceONE Automotive stores. In the preceding months, GB Auto had acquired Texas-based Reliable Automotive, Tate Boys Tire & Service of Oklahoma and Phoenix-based Sun Devil Auto and Sun Auto Service in August. The acquisition also broadens the footprint of the company in California, where it owns Ramona Tire & Service Centers, which serve the Inland Empire.
